Itinerario:

Huaraz – Willcahuain – Hike to Ahuac, Mullaca and Radián

The adventure begins in Huaraz, from where we drive northeast along the road leading to the village of Willcahuain. Here, we start our hike on a marked trail that ascends toward San Cristóbal hill, reaching Ahuac Lake after approximately 3 hours.

Along the way, you can admire the majesty of the mountains with their moraines and glaciers, including Vallunaraju, Churup, Huamashraju, and Cashan, as well as panoramic views of the city of Huaraz.

After a well-deserved rest at Ahuac Lake (4,560 m), we continue along a rocky, winding path until reaching a high pass called Paso del Zorro (4980 m), located at the foot of the imposing Vallunaraju (5,686 m). From this point, we enjoy spectacular views of the twin lakes Mullaca and Carhuac (approx. 4,610 m), with their intense blue color, which we reach via a moraine trail.

After taking in the scenery and capturing unforgettable photos, we begin our final descent along a zigzagging path that runs parallel to the river flowing from the lakes, forming small waterfalls. The route passes through forests of quenuales, native trees of the Andes. Further down, the trail becomes gentler and follows an ancient pre-Inca water channel that leads us to our last stop: Radián Lake (3,885 m). This small lake is remarkable for its surrounding landscape, offering splendid views of much of the Cordillera Blanca.

Finally, after about 20 more minutes of walking, we reach the meeting point with our private transport, which takes us back to Huaraz via the road through the village of Chavín.
End of the journey.
