Hike Portachuelo to Laguna 69
Hiking Portachuelo to Laguna 69 has the landscape and the views of the Llanganuco Valley next to the highest peaks of Peru, make this route one of the most special in the Cordillera Blanca; then walking from Portachuelo lookout to the famous Lake 69 will make your adventure a much more special complement.
It only requires that the traveler is well acclimatized and ready to walk on a rough path with ups and downs and in some parts the streams do not have bridges and therefore you have to cross over rocks.
- Departure time: 4:00am
- End of tour: 18:30 approx.

Itinerario:
Huaraz – Hiking PORTACHUELO to LAGUNA 69 (high view)
Times: 97 km (by car), 14 km (hiking go/back) aprox
With private transportation from Huaraz, the departure will be between 4.30 to 5:00 am and we will drive to the north direction until the city of Yungay, from where we will take the detour and we will go east through an established race to reach the Huascarán National Park. After more than 3 hours of driving we will arrive at the starting point of the trek (4 640 m), from here we will get impressive views of the highest mountains of Peru such as Huascarán (6,768 m), Chopicalqui, Huandoy, Chacraraju and Pisco peaks .
The first section of our trek goes to a viewpoint near the Yanapaccha glacier, where we get impressive and panoramic views of the high mountains that surround us. This is where we begin our first descent of the day through a path between rocks and then through a forest of Queñual trees to reach a glacial lake below Nevado Yanapaccha; from here we will take the final part of the descent where we join the classic route to Laguna 69 at an altitude of 4200 meters.
The remaining 3 km ascend again passing through other lakes and some impressive waterfalls until we reach Laguna 69 at 4600 meters of altitude after approximately 1 and a half hours. Here you will have some time to relax, have lunch and take pictures. The descent until reaching the vehicle will follow the classic road from Laguna 69 to Cebollapampa. Return to Huaraz.

Hotels, bus before/after trek?
We can also organize transfers, hotels in Huaraz or other cities, packages in the rest of the country etc. If you would prefer more services, from the airport in Lima for example or a complete Peru travel package, please let us know.
How many minimum days in advance should I reserve?
You can book up to 2 days before the tour, but if you want to join a group you must request at least 10 to 15 days in advance at least to be able to plan ahead and join a group.

SECOND: We require a payment of 50% per person. You can make your payment by VISA/Mastercard/Dinners or another cards (payment link).
