The Pisco base camp trek to Laguna 69, with an overnight stay at Refugio Perú, is a very special excursion in Huascarán National Park.
This unique hike offers a magnificent experience because it’s located in the heart of the Cordillera Blanca, providing unparalleled views of Peru’s highest mountains. The trail to Laguna 69 is one of the most scenic, offering breathtaking views of uniquely colored glacier lagoons, and 360° panoramas of valleys, ravines, and rivers.
- Pre-trek briefing: The guide will meet you the day before departure in Huaraz to do a full gear check and finalize last minute details.
- Start: 5:30am in Huaraz
- Finish: 18:00pm in Huaraz.

Distance: 85 km. (transport), 7 km approx. (hiking).
Time:3 hours (by transport), 3 hours approx (hiking).
Elevation:+700 meters.
The tour begins at 5:00 a.m.
We travel by transport to Huascarán National Park and, passing through the Llanganuco Valley, we will stop near the Chinancocha and Orconcocha lagoons.
Afterward, we continue to Cebollapampa, the starting point for the hike to Refugio Perú, located at the base camp of mountain Pisco. The hike there will take approximately 3 hours.
From this point, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Cordillera Blanca and Peru’s highest peaks, as well as a spectacular sunset if the weather permits.
- Dinner and overnight in Refuge Perú.
Distance: 12 km approx. (hiking), 85 km. (transport).
Time: 6 to 7 hours approx. (hiking), 3 hours (by transport).
- After breakfast at the refuge, we start our hike horizontally at the beginning but as we advance the path becomes winding with some climbs to viewpoints and steep descents.
- As we hike at a high altitude, we have great panoramic views and enjoy stunning scenes of the surrounding peaks. Laguna 69 is observed from a high vantage point similar to a cliff and is a beautiful blue lake that lies just below the spiral peaks of Chacraraju (6145m) and Pisco (5752m).
- After spending some time at the lake, we walk to Cebollapampa, where our transportation is waiting to take us back to Huaraz.

- Pre-departure briefing: You will meet your guide and group in our office or your hotel or via Whatsapp for an orientation before your trek.
- Transport: You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and will travel by tourist transportation to the starting point of the trek.
- Experienced Guide: English speaking, professionally educated, and official tour guide. Your guide will explain the culture and surroundings along the entire route! He or she will keep you safe, sound, and comfortable on your trek so that you can enjoy your time worry-free!
- 01 night at Refugio Peru (with dinner, bed, breakfast, shower and solar charger).
- Meals: 2 box lunch, 1 Dinners (Vegetarian or special menus are available at no extra cost), 1 breakfast.
- Medical kit: Our crew will bring a first-aid kit, including emergency oxygen bottle.
- Transport: Private transport from end of trek to your hotel in Huaraz.
Not included:
- Entrance fee to Huascaran National Park.
- Sleeping Bags: Considered a personal equipment, but you can rent one from our company if you do not have your own.
- Walking Sticks: You can rent a set from our company if you would like.
- Day 1 breakfast and last day dinner in Huaraz city.

- Tips for our staff: Please note that our agency staff is well paid so please feel free to tip or not as you wish.

How many days do I need to aclimate in Huaraz BEFORE THE TREK?
It is very important to be well acclimated to the altitude before exerting yourself on a trek. We do recommend that you arrive to Huaraz at least 2 or 3 days before the trek starts to help you become acclimatized and avoid possible problems with altitude sickness while on the trek.
We can organize day hikes & other tours around Huaraz for your acclimatization:

If you have already been in another area of Peru at high altitude before arriving in Huaraz, we still recommend you have a complete day in Huaraz to rest, recover from your travel, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Huaraz before departing for the trek.
Hotels, bus before/after trek?
We can also organize transfers, hotels in Huaraz or other cities, packages in the rest of the country etc. If you would prefer more services, from the airport in Lima for example or a complete Peru travel package, please let us know.
Can you accommodate food sensitivities?
Our cooks are used to dealing with vegetarians. However, other clients and staff may have a conventional diet. Meals are prepared in the same tent and scents of meals can not be avoided. if you do not want to eat your meal in the same tent with clients having a conventional diet, please inquire about a private tour.
How to book the Trek?
FIRST: To make a booking, please email us to check availability and receive customized booking form.
All customers or leader of grup will need to fill out a Passenger details form. Please be ready with the following information:
- Personal information (Full name, exactly as on your passport):
- Gender and passport number
- Nationality and date of birth
- Dietary requirements and medical conditions (alergies)
SECOND: We require a 50% deposit per person to organize your experience well in advance. You can make your deposit by Paypal, VISA/Mastercard/Dinners or another cards (payment link) or Wester Union (request our data). All subject to transfer fee
